1997 Induction
Gish Endo
Served as a member of the JANBA and JACL boards since the tournament's
inception. Served as chairman of the 1950 tournament in San Francisco. Has been the only treasurer that JANBA has
known. Has participated in 150+ tournaments. Has also won five JACL titles.
Wat Misaka
Served as JACL Tournament chairman in 1962. Served two terms
as JANBA President from 1979-1984. Member of JACL and JANBA boards from 1971-1998. JANBA Board of Directors "Life
Member". Author of draft for the JANBA constitution. Participated in 50 consecutive tournaments from 1948-1997.
Served as SLC Bowling Assn. President. Member of SLC Bowling Hall of Fame.
Mas Satow (Deceased)
Instrumental in the formation of JANBA. Served as chairman of the
JACL Advisory Board for many years.
Osamu "Ozzie" Shimada
Served as chairman of JACL and JANBA Tournaments in 1969, 1975,
1984 and 1993. Member of advisory board since 1969. President pro-tem for JANBA in 1974-75. Served 2 terms as JANBA
President from 1988-1993. Also served three terms as JANBA Vice-President. "Life Member" of JANBA board.
Has also served as President of the San Jose Nisei Bowling Assn. for three terms. Participated in more than 40
Nikkei National tournaments.
Fred Takagi (Deceased)
Elected and served as the first JANBA President from 1976-78. Served as tournament chair in 1958 & 1968. Member
of advisory board since 1947. "Life Member" of JANBA board. A pioneer and leader of Nikkei bowling in
the Pacific Northwest as well as nationally.

Isao "Easy" Fujimoto

Served as chairman for three JACL tournaments. Served on the JACL Advisory Board for several years.
Shigeru "J.J." Kanegae
(Deceased)
Organized Southern California JANBA in the late 1970's. Served on the JANBA board for many years. Also served as
JANBA Men's Vice-President. Chaired the JANBA tournament in 1982. Participated in 40+ national tournaments.
Bubbles Keikoan
Served as JANBA and JACL board for 26 years. Served as Women's
Event chairperson for two JACL and one JANBA tournaments. Co-chair of Reno Nisei Invitational for several years.
Honored as a "Pioneer" at the Sacramento NBA 50th Anniversary Awards.
Wataru "Dubby" Tsugawa
JACL and JANBA board Member for 38 years. Chaired one JACL and
two JANBA tournaments. Active in Sacramento NBA for many years. Honored as a "Pioneer" at the Sacramento
NBA 50th Anniversary Awards.
Peter Yamaguchi
Served as chairman of JANBA tournament in Las Vegas in 1976.
Has served on JANBA board since 1975. Organized Hawaii NBA in 1972. Has participated in JACL and JANBA tournaments
for 30+ years.

Sayo Togami
Served as JANBA and JACL board member since 1963. Served as JACL
women's chair 1969 San Jose. Has participated in 46 national tournaments. Has not missed a national tournament
since 1955. Won five national titles. Active in San Jose Yu-Ai Kai and San Jose Nisei Bowling Association .
Tac Handa
Served as JANBA board member from the beginning of JANBA in 1975
and served for twenty years. Served as men's chair 1975 JANBA, men's team chair JACL 1969. Active in San Jose Nisei
Junior League, and San Jose Nisei Bowling Association for the past thirty years. Won Senior All Events JANBA.
